2024 NBL Semifinals:KIU Titans Overcome Nam Blazers to level Series

The Titans displayed a spectacular team performance to beat Namuwongo Blazers 81-77 in game two of the 2024 National Basketball League Semifinal series at Lugogo indoor Arena on Sunday.

With the series now levelled, the Titans will nows hift attention to taking the lead when the teams meet again on Tuesday.

On Sunday, Julius Lutwama's boys began brightly leading 43-33 at halftime and were on course to Victory by the end of third quarter with the score board reading 68-47.

The fourth quarter saw the Blazers gain momentum to scare a come back but the Titans held on to clinch the much needed win to level the Series.

Both teams were in foul trouble in the last two minutes with Edgar Munaba, Pierre Kasereka Tembo and Collins Kasujja getting eliminated shortly after Namuwongo's Innocent Ochera was given matching orders.

Peter Obleng was on fire again scoring the team's highest 19 points.

He was followed by Pierre Kasereka Tembo 16 points, Joel Lukoji Banza 13 ,Edgar Munaba 10 and Collins Kasujja 10 points.

Besides improving in defense and offense, the Titans also claimed the rebounding contest 42-32. This partly explains the increase in points scored from the paint (30).

Kasujja's Reaction 

"It's a great feeling to win and that's the reward we got for the great fight today."

"We really needed this win to level the series and now we are back to ground zero. We will now shift our attention to game three and see how to take the lead."

"It was a tight game that's why we had all those fouls but luckily enough we managed our situation professionally."

Game three will be played on Tuesday evening at 9pm , still at Lugogo indoor Arena.
