KIU Titans' quest to reach the 2024 National Basketball League finals suffered a setback after the team lost 75-68 to Namuwongo Blazers in game four of the semifinals on Thursday to force a decisive game five.
The Result meant the series that are now levelled at 2-2 will go on the wire and the two sides will meet in a nail-biting game five on Sunday.
The Titans went into Thursday's game needing only a win to book a place in the finals but the Blazers fought harder and survived going home a little bit early.
KIU Titans started brightly and were up 25-16 at the end of the first quarter before the survival seeking Namuwongo Blazers mounted an impressive comeback to outscore Julius Lutwama's boys in the remaining three quarters to level the Series.
Despite being punished for failing to utilize a number of scoring opportunities, the Titans were also cost by turnovers (20) and being out rebounded (56-45).
Joel Lukoji Banza starred in the losing effort as he scored the team's highest 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Juf Mpiya registered 13 points and six rebounds
While Peter Obleng scored 11 points,six rebounds and two assists despite spending only 24 minutes on the clock.
Pierre Kasereka Tembo also scored in double figures for KIU Titans (10) while Edgar Munaba posted seven points and eightrebounds.
